Interest Rates have been kept at 0.5% since March 2009

UKinterest rates have today been held at a record low of 0.5% by the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee.

However, despite concerns over the strength of the recovery the Bank resisted the temptation to pump further money into the economy.  £275bn has already been pumped into the economy between March 2009 and October 2011.
